Blankets that cover you
with the warmth of Ukrainian regions
How the idea came out
In winter 2023, the social projects agency and online media Platfor.ma released a charity collection of sweaters and scarves “Ukraine” celebrating the beauty of Ukrainian regions. We at Woolkrafts fell in love with the project and offered to turn the wonderful designs into cozy blankets.
“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we at Woolkrafts have prioritized the creation of blankets, the design of which has a special meaning or carries a certain important message. So, when we saw the Platfor.ma charity collection, we decided to scale this project together. This is how a special and touching joint collection was born”
Heart warming landscapes
The limited series of blankets included 15 blankets depicting the most native Ukrainian landscapes. The art director of Plator.ma, Valeria Gorodchanina, worked on the designs. Among them are the Carpathian meadows and tericons of Donbas, the steppes of Tavria and the fields of Podillia, the forests of Severshchyna and the mountains of Crimea. So that everyone will definitely find their favorite corner of Ukraine.
Charity goal
The project combines a desire to help and a creative approach to knitted things, and this resonates 100% with our values and approach. If we had such a physical opportunity, we would hug the whole of Ukraine, because we love it sooo much. For us, this collaboration is also about how Ukraine embraces us, just like a favorite cozy blanket.
But most of all, the entire team was inspired by the important goal of the project — to support the National Rehabilitation Center “Unbroken” and to participate in the collection of funds for bionic prostheses for our military and people affected by war.
In general, thanks to the sale of “Ukraine” blankets we managed to accumulate and transfer to “Unbroken” more than 550 thousand hryvnias, which have already helped the defenders to recover.
The initiative is now completed and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined the project and now has a special limited edition blanket from our joint collection.
