During the nearly 10-year history of the Woolkrafts brand, we have often had the opportunity to work with various artists and subject designers. Therefore, when Waone Interesni Kazki wrote to us in summer of 2023 to introduce us to an American colleague, we happily contacted each other about a new art project.

This artist turned out to be EL MAC (Miles MacGregor) (Miles MacGregor), a world-renowned artist who was born and lives in Los Angeles. In the mid-1990s, he began painting both small indoor works and public murals and graffiti in Phoenix. Since then, he has developed his own unique visual aesthetic and style that uses repetitive contour patterns. His work is influenced by classical European art, social realism, symbolism and religious art, as well as the Chicano and Mexican culture around which he grew up. He is best known for his meticulous paintings and large-scale murals.

Thanks to the recommendation of Waone, the artist turned to us to realize one of his new works in the format of a knitted blanket.

Miles closely follows the events in Ukraine and deliberately wanted to support us. Therefore, we lovingly implemented his idea so that anyone who wants to be able to wrap himself in a work of modern art, carefully created in Ukraine, at a distance of thousands of kilometers from Kyiv.

Direct speech of EL MAC: “The rose is a symbol of love and beauty, as well as the transience of life and everything material. This flower has long been considered the “queen of flowers”. “Mystical Rose” is also a poetic name for the Holy Mother. Working on this image was primarily an expression of love and gratitude to my mother, who helped shape my worldview and attitude to many things.”
